Arif Iqbal is a solicitor, working for a regional firm. He has experience of dealing with matters across the spectrum including serious and complex matters. He deals with matters from the police station, through to the Magistrates’ Court and/or the Crown Court. He has defended both privately and legally aided clients. He specialises in representing clients subject to criminal and/or professional regulatory proceedings. He works with barristers with an established track record of successful results.

He has worked for several law firms. Arif has experience both as a litigator and as an advocate (in the Magistrates’ Court and the Family Court). He also has experience of defending police officers in both misconduct and criminal proceedings. In addition, he has expertise as a Special Educational Needs Law solicitor.

Arif is an excellent communicator and takes great pride in providing excellent levels of client care during each of his cases. Mortgage fraud and money laundering – Defendant accused of involvement in a multi-million pound mortgage fraud over seven years, with the trial involving complicated forensic accountancy evidence. The defendant was acquitted of an allegation under the Proceeds of Crime Act at the close of the prosecution case and unanimously by the jury on the remaining counts.

GBH – Suspended prison sentence. Allegation that female defendant threw boiling water on her husband resulting in serious bodily harm.

Manslaughter – Defendant accused of leaving his elderly mother, who had dementia, after a fall, to die. Suspended prison sentence following conviction by a jury. The trial involved expert medical evidence around the timing of injury.
